Sri Papanasa Swami, who graces devotees in the form of a Shiva Linga. Sri Ulagambikai is worshipped here as the consort of the Lord. The temple features a separate shrine for Sri Natarajar and boasts a magnificent seven-tiered Rajagopuram; it is also referred to by some as ‘Indra Keela Kshetram’ and ‘Nava Kailaya Kshetram’. Due to the significant importance accorded to Lord Surya (the Sun God) here, the temple is also known as ‘Surya Kailayam’ or ‘Surya Kshetram’.
