Perched atop a scenic hillock in Panpoli, this revered shrine is dedicated to Lord Murugan (Thirumalai Murugan). Devotees can ascend via a flight of over 600 steps or use the ghat road while taking in panoramic views of the Western Ghats. According to legend, Sage Agastya worshipped Lord Murugan here and created the sacred perennial spring named Poonchunai. Saint Arunagirinathar praised the deity in his divine hymns of Thiruppugazh. The temple is especially vibrant during Visakam, Skanda Sashti, and monthly Karthigai festivals.
